Diploma in Supervision

  • The Gestalt Centre 96-100 Clifton St London, EC2A 4TP United Kingdom (map)

Our supervision training has been respected and praised for its rigour, practicality and creativity. The emphasis during the training will be on practice, underpinned with input on and discussion of theory and ethics. This course will allow participants to study and develop the skills and theory for the task of supervision, explore the dynamics of supervision, look at the potential for creative methods to expand the repertoire of the supervisor, use their own supervisory experience either as supervisee or supervisor, to enact and critique live practice, and, scrutinise and discuss issues of importance including ethics, boundaries, institutional and organisational matters. Participants will increase their skills in responding appropriately to practitioners with different levels of experience, and will enhance their understanding of their ethical, pastoral and therapeutic responsibilities as supervisees and supervisors This course is open to both individual and group practitioners at the start of their supervisory practice or for those who wish to refresh their skills and leads to a Gestalt Centre Diploma in Supervision. Participants need a minimum of four years’ experience as a therapist or counsellor and, by the completion of the course, will need to have carried out at least 80 hours supervising individuals or groups.
